You’re invited to share in my dream world where I riddle and rhyme and dance, mostly out of time…
“The hidden forest lay as still
we waked it with our laughter” — Elizabeth Hollister Frost
I was raised, as any good kid should be, on Jim Henson and his Muppets. I fancy myself to be a Zoe.
“Life’s like a movie, write your own ending.
Keep believing, keep pretending.” — Jim Henson
In school I was fascinated to learn that books might be censored from my library, and hurried to check out “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret.” before it could be removed. Thus Judy Blume became my literary mother.
“The truth will make you odd.” — Judy Blume
I am a classical studies kind of girl who gets lost in Leonardo da Vinci’s notebooks from time to time:
“I love those who can smile in trouble, who can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. ‘Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but they whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves their conduct, will pursue their principles unto death” ― Leonardo da Vinci
I hope that I would smell as sweet by any other name, but I am fond of my heritage, history, culture and family. I play with my name and pseudonyms, for example “Dream Aria” as a derivatives extracted from Andrea Maria Niblick. Or Nibbles, a nickname from Niblick.
Niblick suits me just fine, as you’d know if you’d met me. It means obstinate golf club, or loosely as I interpret it, a nine-iron to the head. When my grandpa wasn’t clowning around, you’d always find him with a twinkle in his eye and his hand carved Niblick in his hand.
